วันที่ 6 ก.ย. 67 สำนักข่าวซินหัวรายงานว่า ซูเปอร์ไต้ฝุ่นยางิ ได้พัดขึ้นฝั่งเกาะไหหลำแล้ว สำนักงานใหญ่การจัดการเหตุฉุกเฉินของมณฑลไห่หนาน (ไหหลำ) ทางตอนใต้ของจีน รายงานว่าซูเปอร์ไต้ฝุ่นยางิ ซึ่งเป็นพายุไต้ฝุ่นลูกที่ 11 ของปีนี้ ได้เคลื่อนตัวขึ้นฝั่งที่ตำบลเวิงเถียนในเมืองเหวินชางของมณฑลไห่หนาน ตอน 16.20 น. ของวันศุกร์ (6 ก.ย.) ตามเวลาท้องถิ่น

รายงานระบุว่าพายุไต้ฝุ่นยางิ ซึ่งมีกำลังลมสูงเกิน 234 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง ก่อให้เกิดฝนตกหนักเกือบทั่วเกาะไห่หนาน โดยหมู่บ้านและตำบลบางแห่งเผชิญพายุฝนรุนแรง พื้นที่ตอนเหนือของไห่หนานมีลมกรรโชกแรงระดับ 13-16 ขณะอำเภอและเมืองบางแห่งเกิดไฟฟ้าดับ

ทั้งนี้ สำนักอุตุนิยมวิทยามณฑลไห่หนานคาดการณ์ว่าพายุไต้ฝุ่นยางิจะเคลื่อนตัวสู่นครไห่โข่ว รวมถึงอำเภอเฉิงม่ายและอำเภอหลินเกา ก่อนเคลื่อนตัวสู่อ่าวเป่ยปู้ในช่วงเช้าวันเสาร์ (7 ก.ย.)

สำหรับ พายุยางิ นั้นถือเป็นพายุไต้ฝุ่นลูกที่ 11 ของปีนี้ ได้ทวีความรุนแรงขึ้นเป็นซูเปอร์ไต้ฝุ่น ระดับ 17 ด้วยแรงลมสูงถึง 245 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง โดยมีเส้นทางมุ่งหน้าสู่เกาะไห่หนาน ขณะที่ทางการท้องถิ่นมณฑลไห่หนาน ได้มีการประกาศอพยพประชาชน จำนวน 419,367 คน ไปยังพื้นที่ปลอดภัย
